On the Needles

We've been having internet issues here at Chez Kimberly. Normally, we start to believe all is well. Then, we lose all access. I'm hoping the issue is finally resolved. If not, I could be spending another day at home waiting for the technician to arrive in one of those huge time windows they give you.

In any event, I'm trying to get this entry in quickly. Therefore, I'll be making this post a short one.

I'm working on the Wonderful Wallaby. I'm enjoying it. I'm knitting the size 6 which is smaller than I thought it would be, even after I did the math.

The pictures posted today will be of the progress made about a week ago. I haven't wanted to upload any new ones since I wasn't able to post them to the blog.

Since I'm not a big fan of seaming, though I aspire to be, I love the way the pocket is knit right onto the sweater. For the next Wallaby I knit, I will be rethinking the stripe placement and thickness. I wil probablyl have the stripe placed either just below or just above the area I used this time or I'll thicken the stripe. The pocket placement covers part of the stripe and I don't think I like the look.

The conversational tone of the pattern was not a problem for me. I think, like most people, I'm used to getting specific numbers and directions. Due to fun I'm having knitting this sweater, I picked up a few more of the Cottage Creations patterns.

Hopefully, I'll eventually make the Big Sven Sveater. I'm also looking forward to the Babies and Bears Sveater/Sweater.

If you're not a fan of lots of stockinette stitches, this pattern is one you may want to skip but I find that many sweaters are endless steams of stockinette with a few increases and decreases for shaping.

My son doesn't believe the sweater will fit him, as I continue to comment that I thought it would be bigger. I'm hoping he'll get to wear it at least once. If not, he's already got a recipient in mind.
